Aide

Terms of use

Effective October 5, 2026

By installing or using Aide, you agree to these terms.

The app

Aide is a personal assistant that stores your messages and makes reminders, events, to-dos, notes and bookmarks from them, on your phone. You're responsible for what you put into it. Keep your phone's own backups if what you store matters to you: Aide doesn't back up your data, and uninstalling it deletes everything.

Reminders

Aide works to deliver reminders on time, but Android, your phone's maker and its settings (battery saving, notification settings, restarts) can delay or stop them. Don't rely on Aide alone for anything where a missed reminder could cause harm, such as medication, safety or legal deadlines.

The AI

Aide uses AI models that run on your phone to understand what you ask. They can misunderstand a request, pick the wrong item or miss something you saved. Check what it creates and changes; changes it isn't sure about wait for your confirmation. Answers about your saved items are written by the app from those items, not by the AI.

Gemma

Aide's request model is based on Google's FunctionGemma and has been modified from the original model. Gemma is provided under and subject to the Gemma Terms of Use found at ai.google.dev/gemma/terms.

You may not use Aide, or its model, for any purpose restricted by the Gemma Prohibited Use Policy at ai.google.dev/gemma/prohibited_use_policy, and you agree to its use restrictions as part of these terms.

Other software

Aide includes open-source software and models under their own licenses, among them Google's LiteRT-LM (Apache 2.0), IBM's Granite Embedding model (Apache 2.0), Android Jetpack libraries (Apache 2.0), Feather icons (MIT), Lucide icons (ISC) and the Roboto Mono font (SIL Open Font License 1.1). Their licenses are in the app, under About.

Reporting a reply

If the AI writes something offensive or wrong, long-press it in the chat and choose Report. Your email app opens with the reply and your request, addressed to us; nothing is sent unless you send that email.

No warranty

Aide is provided "as is", without warranties of any kind, to the extent the law allows. To the extent the law allows, we aren't liable for any loss arising from your use of it, including missed reminders or lost data.

Changes

We may update these terms. The new version will be posted here with a new effective date; continuing to use the app means you accept it.
